Desiringto beteachers of the law; understandingneitherwhatthey say, norwhereofthey affirm.
Butwe knowthatthe law is good, ifa manuseitlawfully;
Knowingthis, thatthe lawisnotmade fora righteous man, butfor the lawlessanddisobedient, for the ungodlyandfor sinners, for unholyandprofane, for murderers of fathersandmurderers of mothers, for manslayers,
For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, andifthere beanyother thingthat is contrary tosounddoctrine;
According tothe gloriousgospelof the blessedGod, whichwas committed tomytrust.
AndIthankChristJesusourLord, who hath enabledme, for thathe countedmefaithful, putting meintothe ministry;

Howbeitforthis causeI obtained mercy, thatinmefirstJesusChristmight shew forthalllongsuffering, fora patternto them which should hereafterbelieveonhimtolifeeverlasting.
